Description

Very nice Winchester M1 Carbine, including oiler and gun sling.

The M1 Carbine is an American-made carbine with fifteen rounds of 0.3″ caliber (7.62×33mm) per magazine; a longer magazine was also made that holds thirty rounds. The advantage of the rifle is that it is a compact and semi-automatic weapon.

It was developed by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company. Although the M1 Carbine is often called the “Baby Garand,” it is not from the same developer. The weapon was developed to replace the Colt 1911A1, but this never happened. The M1 Carbine was and remains a very popular weapon.

More M1 Carbines were produced in World War II than the popular M1 Garand. There is also a model with a folding stock: the M1A1 Carbine; this model was developed for the airborne troops, but these units also used it. The standard infantry versions were used.

In the final years of the war, improvements were made. A bayonet (M4 Bayonet) was developed, and the first L-sight was converted to an adjustable sight. Between late 1941 and mid-1945, approximately 6,221,220 M1 Carbines were produced by various manufacturers.
